Colonial Williamsburg

During our journey from Sicily to Alabama we spent a few days in Virginia. Colonial Williamsburg was on the plan, and after struggling through the I-64 traffic from Norfolk… holy cow that was no joke… we made it out to the site, slathered on our sunscreen and got ready to brave the heat and humidity. All of the characters/actors dress in period clothing, which means that they are very covered. We chatted with one of them and she assured us that because they were wearing natural fibers that the multiple layers and high collars weren’t too warm. I’m not quite sure that I believe her, seeing as she’s paid to be kind and approachable, but she did have a point about avoiding too much sun exposure.
