A Little Extra Pink
[portfolio_slideshow, thumbs:true] I shot these a few weeks ago, but they’ve been sitting on my desktop. Time to post them up!

[portfolio_slideshow, thumbs:true] Dada was finishing up dinner (gotta love a man who cooks!) and the boys and I took a moment to grab a picture for the day. The light was pretty… so I took more than a few pictures.

He was counting how many friends he had over yesterday and decided to show me instead.

We had a total of 23 people over for a great fourth of July celebration, then we walked down to the neighborhood elementary school to watch the town fireworks show. Finally, back to our house for a couple sparklers at 10 o’clock at night. We had some very tired boys at that point, but it

[portfolio_slideshow, thumbs:true] He wanted to jump on the bed and scream. However, his brother was trying (he never did) to nap in the next room over, so we read a book and quieted down.

Halfway through the year?! Congrats fellow 365’ers… 6 months is a big accomplishment! Grayden is also midway. In between a baby and a little boy. On one hand he is picking up new words all the time, can follow 1 step directions, sits for 5-10 minute stretches entertaining himself with books, and is a total
Isaac and I searched the house for pretty pockets of light this morning. Of course, he thought we were playing a different game… but it’s all about the light, you know.

I didn’t buy my weekly bouquet until Tuesday, and I just may shoot some floral macros to replace this uninspired little image with! A “brave” grasshopper that would not hold still on the patio door.

[portfolio_slideshow; thumbs:true] We went out for a frozen yogurt treat today. Isaac especially enjoys choosing his crazy candy combinations. Like today: red velvet yogurt with hot fudge, brownie pieces, Heath Bar bits, Mike and Ike’s, peanut M&M’s, and an animal cookie. The red velvet yogurt tasted surprisingly similar to the cake. Yum!

Grayden’s first one year molar finally broke the surface today. It has been 6 months since we thought that it would be popping up “any day.” He wasn’t thrilled with the development. Not that I blame him, I vaguely remember the discomfort my 12 year molars caused… mouth pain is no joke!
Today was full of cooperation, science “projects” about buoyancy, an easygoing trip to Target, treats at Starbucks, good naps and homemade pizza cooked on the grill. A good day for sure.

Isaac had a blast in the kiddie pool today. I was able to encourage him to float on his back and “put his eyes” in the water. Hopefully he’ll end up as a little swimming fish. While we were out in the yard (in the 104 degree heat, ick) 5 pigeons randomly flew in and
Mmm… green onion and lime. We had a yummy dinner tonight! All of my sleeping kid pictures look the same…. but that doesn’t mean he’s any less sweet. :)

I made cheddar bacon scones for breakfast and all of the boys approved. Grayden has been starting to read books without tasting them too.

[portfolio_slideshow, thumbs: true] There has continually been some excuse (illness, injury, weather, etc.) as to why I couldn’t shoot Grayden’s 1 year pictures. This morning, the light in his room inspired me and I finally got the job done. Love you, little guy.

I think I wiped noses a few less times today… so that’s a step in the right direction. I do have another kid, I promise. He just doesn’t like to hold still for me.

I’ve been struck down with a cold and both of the boys have it as well. We’re drowning in snot in this household.
