We spent the evening at the Sacramento County Fair with some good friends. Plenty of good (bad) food and kids who couldn’t get enough of the rides.

I’m obviously not a needed assistant! He humored my participation more than anything.  My new tilt shift lens is going to be a lot of fun to play with! Not immediately intuitive, but super sharp and how fun to have such creative control over the plane of focus.

Someone is about to lose his status as baby of the family. Some days you’re ready: clearing the table after meals, going to bed and nap without any issue, taking care of most of your bathroom needs, taking off your own shirt (whoop, whoop! That was a tough one to learn), sharing and playing nicely

He’s always so happy to participate in pictures… as long as I’m not behind the camera ;)

It’s already Wednesday. I forgot about the week of selfies with the kiddos for Mother’s day. Oops! Some will  be better than none, right?

First day out in the sprinkler. That must mean it’s officially summertime!

He’s always bruised… always finding mischief… almost always up for a cuddle with one of his buddies. He’s a boy. :)

Later, as he followed me outside with his shoes on, he said “I’m not barefoot, I’m bare-shirted!”

Someday, I’m going to find a large field of ranunculus to wander around in. Perhaps at sunrise. I’m pretty sure it will be one of the happiest days of my life :)

Spring-time yellow flowers are always so buoyant and happy.

Our first family egg dyeing experience went quite well. The only major casualty was a hole in the bottom of the yellow dye cup. But, no damage to the table. Success!

Just their sweet little profiles. Egg hunt bedlam doesn’t make for the prettiest pictures…. so I settled for a few snaps after they’d grabbed up all of their eggs. Apparently, there was a lot to think about after the hunt ;)

Just slightly behind on blogging….

Birthday pancakes, plasma car, dinner at Red Robin and a special cupcake before bedtime. It’s good to be 3!

I felt like this baby was sitting really high, but in several of the shots today (that I did not post!) it looks like he’s poking out straight underneath my belly button. Seriously, like an oblong watermelon sticking out right underneath my belly button. Hmm…

He had an “owie” on his toe. It required some careful scrutinization. …and, it was post-nap, so there was definitely more than a little of this kind of face…

Still, semi-cooperative child is a much better mix with the Lensbaby, for now…
