Legos and Tilt Shift

I’m obviously not a needed assistant! He humored my participation more than anything.

My new tilt shift lens is going to be a lot of fun to play with! Not immediately intuitive, but super sharp and how fun to have such creative control over the plane of focus.

Letters to my Sons- May

Someone is about to lose his status as baby of the family.

Some days you’re ready: clearing the table after meals, going to bed and nap without any issue, taking care of most of your bathroom needs, taking off your own shirt (whoop, whoop! That was a tough one to learn), sharing and playing nicely with Isaac, taking a sweet- and mostly gentle- interest in all of our little baby friends… Other days, I try to tell myself that Chiphug will just stay in my belly forever.

But, he won’t. And I want to do my very best to make sure that, as the middle child, you don’t feel lost. Thankfully, your funny little personality and sense of humor has me laughing everyday, and I don’t think you’ll have trouble getting your fair share of attention. I can’t wait to see you step into the role of big brother; I’m sure there will be bumps along the road, but I know that you’ll learn so much from figuring out how we will all fit together as a family of 5.

For now, you just enjoy sitting on your little brother ;)

Please continue on around the blog circle and stop by my friend Ashley’s blog to see images of her sweet little guy and read her thoughtful words for him.

He’s always so happy to participate in pictures… as long as I’m not behind the camera ;)

It’s already Wednesday. I forgot about the week of selfies with the kiddos for Mother’s day. Oops! Some will  be better than none, right?

First day out in the sprinkler. That must mean it’s officially summertime!

Boy. Little.

He’s always bruised… always finding mischief… almost always up for a cuddle with one of his buddies.

He’s a boy. :)

Bare-shirted

Later, as he followed me outside with his shoes on, he said “I’m not barefoot, I’m bare-shirted!”

Letters to my Sons- April

5 and 1/2. So much of the time, lately, you amaze me with your understanding of the world and your comprehension of involved topics. Khan academy and videos about fractions, physics and economics (really? how does a talk on economics hold your attention?) is one of your favorite iPad apps. However, there is still a lot of “little” in you, buddy. Recently, we had one of the toughest days we’ve experienced in quite awhile. Your emotions are often still too big for you to handle. After that really rough day of anger, tears and upset, we made it through to the next day. A day in which you were all cuddles and gentle touch, smiles and cooperation. We’re making it buddy… one day at a time.

Please continue on around the circle and visit the blog of my friend, Lacey Meyers. You won’t be able to resist her 3 sweet boys and Lacey’s heartfelt way of writing about and to them!
